KINGMAX Launched PRO SSD SMU 32 and SMU 35 SATA III Client

Today KINGMAX announced the release of the SATA III Client PRO SSD -- SMU 32 and SMU 35. The drives deliver read/write speeds of up to 550MB/s, 520MB/s respectively, and 4KB random write speeds with up to 85,000IOPS. These high performance drives are aimed to meet the needs of power users excelling in gaming, multi-tasking, and multi-media computing.

The SMU 32 (basic version) and SMU 35 (desktop version) both come in various capacities of ranging from 60GB to 480GB, with the desktop version also coming with a 3.5 inch drive bay bracket included. Additionally both drives are accompanied with a 3 year warranty.

Both drives are based on the powerful Sandforce controller and latest firmware technology, in attempts to maximize performance and extend product endurance along with data protection. Both drives also have the advantage of using synchronous flash memory (a higher grade of memory), which allows the devices to achieve better performance for a longer lifetime than asynchronous flash does.

The SMU 32 and SMU 35 support NCQ and TRIM commands to optimize performance. The devices also support DuraWrite, a powerful algorithm used to further extend product lifetime; Data is safeguarded by S.M.A.R.T function and protected by a high level error correction code -55bit ECC. The SMU 32 and SMU 35 also support RAID, allowing users to connect multiple SSDs.

KINGMAX has yet to announce an official price range for either of the two drives.
